Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of awareness that we all move in and out of many times every day.

Can you imagine being “lost in a book” or so absorbed in an activity that everything else just seems to fade away? Or perhaps switching off your car on arrival at work with no memory of the buildings and traffic lights you passed on the way?

At these times you were experiencing hypnosis.

It’s similar to day dreaming. Your mind and body are relaxed… and you find, that without really trying, you are able to focus on just one thing, easily, perfectly, completely.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy happens when you and I work together to create that state of hypnosis and use it to help you achieve the positive life goals you desire.

How does it work?

When you are in hypnosis your conscious mind, (the part that is always questioning and analysing), is quietened.

This allows your unconscious mind, (the part that is creative), to accept more easily the ideas and suggestions it receives to create the positive change that you desire.

You remain aware of what is going on throughout the session, (as you are not asleep).

You remain fully in control of your actions and can take yourself out of hypnosis at any time.

Best of all, through hypnotherapy, you are able to access your inner potential and begin the process of transformational change.

What can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of issues including anxiety, confidence, fears and phobias, insomnia, menopause, Parkinson’s Disease, pain management, stopping smoking, stress and more.

When I am hypnotised am I under the therapist’s control?

No, during a hypnotherapy session you remain fully in control at all times and could choose to end the session at any time if you wished.

Is online hypnotherapy as effective as face to face sessions?

Online hypnotherapy is equally as effective as in person sessions. Some clients prefer to work online as it avoids the time and cost involved in travelling to the therapy location.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions that you require depends upon your individual needs and the issue that is being addressed. You may only require one treatment (e.g. for smoking cessation) or you may require several sessions.

How long is a session?

Sessions last for 60 minutes.

How often would we meet?

I usually meet with clients once a week but I can tailor the frequency of sessions to align with your requirements.
